On January 10, 2024, 30-year-old Allen Oliver Vargas was fatally shot at the Hollister Migrant Housing Center in Hollister, California. Deputies from the San Benito County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 6:56 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Vargas inside one of the housing units, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
