On December 12, 2023, at approximately 11:04 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to a "shots fired" call in the 600 block of West Corregidor Street in Compton, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 46-year-old Blaine LaPrairie suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. Paramedics from the Compton Fire Department transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on December 13.
