On January 22, 2024, 40-year-old Shara Jeanene Kent of Brentwood, California, tragically lost her life in a domestic violence incident. Authorities responded to a welfare check at a residence on East Sims Road, where they encountered a man barricaded inside a bedroom. The individual, later identified as 37-year-old Craig Goatley, informed deputies that he had fatally shot a woman and was armed with multiple firearms.
