On May 25, 2024, at approximately 3:25 a.m., 37-year-old actor Johnny Wactor was fatally shot near the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Hope Street in downtown Los Angeles. After completing his bartending shift at the Level 8 bar/restaurant, Wactor was escorting a female co-worker to her vehicle when he noticed individuals tampering with his own car, a Toyota Prius.
