Death by Force

On June 2, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., 28-year-old Armando Islas Jr. was fatally shot near the Southwest Rio Vista YMCA in Maywood, California. The incident occurred in the 4800 block of East 58th Street, west of the Los Angeles River. Upon arrival, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies found Islas Jr. with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
