Officer John A. Hoglund, a dedicated member of the Maywood Police Department in California, tragically lost his life on May 29, 1992, at the age of 47. On that fateful day, Officer Hoglund responded to a robbery alarm at a local market store located at 4052 52nd Street. As he exited his patrol car, he was ambushed and shot three times with a .45 caliber handgun.
