On June 17, 2024, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of an unresponsive man near the intersection of I Parkway and Forest Parkway in South Sacramento. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Sherman Gage, who had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following a comprehensive investigation involving witness interviews and evidence collection, detectives identified 23-year-old Denisho Collins as a suspect in
Gage's homicide. Collins was apprehended on July 12, 2024, and found in possession of a loaded firearm at the time of his arrest. He was subsequently booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of homicide, with bail set at $50,000. His initial court appearance was scheduled for July 18, 2024.
