On June 17, 2024, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of an unresponsive man near the intersection of I Parkway and Forest Parkway in South Sacramento. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Sherman Gage, who had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
