On the evening of July 12, 2024, at approximately 9:04 p.m., Desert Hot Springs police responded to reports of a shooting near the 66100 block of Pierson Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of 31-year-old Christian Salas, who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The location of the incident was notably close to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department headquarters.
