On the evening of September 4, 2024, at approximately 8:25 p.m., deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 900 block of Alturas Road in Fallbrook, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 24-year-old Eduardo Delarosa lying in front of a residence with trauma to his torso. Emergency medical personnel from the North County Fire Department transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The following day, September 5, 2024, authorities arrested Delarosa's 15-year-old brother on suspicion of involvement in the homicide. He was subsequently booked into Juvenile Hall on charges of murder. Both siblings resided in Fallbrook.
An autopsy conducted by the Medical Examiner's Office on September 6, 2024, determined that Delarosa died from a perforated gunshot wound to the abdomen, officially ruling the death a homicide.
