On October 6, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon in the 1300 block of West 97th Street, situated between Normandie Avenue and Budlong Avenue in the Westmont area, east of Inglewood. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 61-year-old Ronald Davis seated inside a white sedan parked in a residential driveway. He was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined that multiple gunshots were fired in front of the residence, followed by a vehicle speeding away eastbound on West 97th Street. Despite these findings, details regarding the suspect or suspects involved, as well as the motive behind the shooting, remain undisclosed. Authorities have not released further information, and no arrests have been made in connection with this incident.
