On October 17, 2024, Eli Thomas, a 7-year-old boy from Lancaster, California, tragically lost his life due to a gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. at a residence on the 44000 block of Dahlia Street, where Eli was visiting a friend's home. Upon arrival, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies found Eli with a critical gunshot injury; despite their efforts and those of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
