On July 16, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., 18-year-old George Peter Al Hawara was fatally shot while working alone at his family's business, Smoke Hookah, located at 1440 West Avenue I in Lancaster, California.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, two male suspects entered the smoke shop and became involved in an altercation with Al Hawara. During the confrontation, one suspect produced a firearm and shot Al Hawara in the chest.
The suspects then fled the scene on foot. Emergency responders arrived shortly after and pronounced Al Hawara dead at the scene.
Al Hawara had recently graduated from high school and was known for his dedication to his family's business. His cousin, Kristine Dabbas, described him as a "precious soul" and expressed deep sorrow over his untimely death.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the suspects remain at large.
