In a tragic turn of events on January 16, 2023, 14-year-old Cordarion DeShawn Hall, a male, was fatally wounded in a shooting at a baseball field near 26th Avenue North and Salem Mason Drive in Nashville, Tennessee. Another young man, 19-year-old Michael 'Chase' Adams, was also killed in the incident. When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered Adams deceased in a nearby yard. Cordarion was found on the baseball field, having sustained gunshot wounds.
He was urgently transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, Cordarion DeShawn Hall succumbed to his injuries and passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023. Born on June 1, 2008, Cordarion was a ninth-grade student at Bass Middle School who had a passion for basketball, football, and playing video games. His death sent a ripple of grief through his family and the wider community, leaving them to mourn the loss of a young life cut short by violence.
The investigation into the double homicide led to a significant development in July 2023 when a grand jury returned indictments against three brothers: Chadwick Wells, 24, Keondre Wells, 21, and Deshawn Wells, 20. They were each charged with two counts of premeditated first-degree murder and two counts of felony first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of both Cordarion and Michael. Following the indictments, law enforcement began a search for the three suspects. By the end of August 2023, it was reported that two of the three brothers had been taken into custody.
