In the spring of 2023, the city of Nashville, Tennessee, was rocked by a tragedy that claimed the life of Michael 'Mike' Hill, a beloved 61-year-old African American custodian at The Covenant School. Known affectionately as 'Big Mike,' he was a cherished member of the school community, remembered for his warm and loving nature. A father to seven and a grandfather to fourteen, Hill was a man who found great joy in his family and his work, where he was known to greet students by name with a hug.
