On the night of May 15, 2022, a festive gathering at a house party in South Nashville took a tragic turn, ending the life of 26-year-old Adrian Castillo. As the evening wound down, Castillo and a group of friends left the party and were walking towards their car on Wallace Road. In a sudden and violent ambush, one or more unknown individuals opened fire on the group.
In the chaotic moments that followed, Castillo was struck by the gunfire.
His friends, desperate to get him medical help, rushed him to the nearby TriStar Southern Hills Hospital. Tragically, they were unable to gain entry to the emergency room. In a frantic change of plans, they drove him to a friend's residence on Coleridge Drive and immediately called for an ambulance. Paramedics arrived and transported Castillo to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
Detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department promptly began an investigation into the homicide. They identified the crime scene on Wallace Road and started gathering evidence. Despite their efforts and appeals to the public for information, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The individual or individuals responsible for Adrian Castillo's death remain at large, and the motive for the attack is still unknown. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to seek leads that could bring justice for Castillo and his loved ones.
