In the spring of 2023, the life of a young Nashville man was cut tragically short. Deshawn Lamar Talley, a 21-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the evening of May 12th. The incident occurred in the Edgehill neighborhood, a community suddenly shattered by the sound of gunfire that some witnesses reportedly mistook for fireworks.
