On the morning of August 18, 2023, Tomanuel Benson, a Black/African American male, was shot and killed at a BP gas station on South Parkway East in Memphis, Tennessee. When police officers responded to the shooting at approximately 9:37 a.m., they found Benson with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation into Benson's death led the Memphis Police Department to identify Randy Darnell Ewing Jr. as the suspect. An arrest warrant was issued for Ewing, w ...
