On the morning of August 18, 2023, Tomanuel Benson, a Black/African American male, was shot and killed at a BP gas station on South Parkway East in Memphis, Tennessee. When police officers responded to the shooting at approximately 9:37 a.m., they found Benson with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
