In Kingsport, Tennessee, on March 22, 2024, a promising young life was tragically cut short. William 'Bryan' Wilson, a 20-year-old White/Caucasian male, was found inside a residence on Lovedale Drive with a single gunshot wound to his chest. Emergency services, including officers from the Kingsport Police Department and Sullivan County EMS, rendered aid at the scene before rushing him to a local hospital, but his injury proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
Authorities described the
shooting as appearing accidental, though the investigation remains active and ongoing. While they have stated that it was an isolated incident with no threat to the public, charges are pending the outcome of the investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the shooting.
Known as Bryan to his friends and family, William was a 2021 graduate of Sullivan South High School, where he was a dedicated soccer player. He continued his education at Northeast State Community College, graduating with honors in 2023 with an Associate of Arts in history. At the time of his death, he was pursuing a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice at East Tennessee State University. Remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, Bryan's life was one of academic achievement and athletic passion, leaving a void in the lives of his family and all who knew him.
