In a tragic incident on May 1, 2024, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, 19-year-old DeJyron DeVonte Triplett and his 21-year-old brother, De'Aaron Triplett, were killed in what authorities have described as an ambush-style shooting. The brothers were at an apartment complex located at 1101 Arlington Avenue when the attack occurred. DeJyron DeVonte Triplett was a graduate of New Hope High School and was formerly employed by SeSe Auto Company.

promptly launched an investigation into the double homicide. Their efforts led to the arrest of two suspects on June 11, 2024. Jamarie Jones, 20, was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated burglary, and multiple firearms violations. The second suspect, 32-year-old Darrisha Danforth, was charged as an accessory after the fact. Surveillance footage from the scene reportedly captured a masked Jones entering the breezeway of the apartments and appearing to shoot in the direction of the victims before fleeing in a vehicle.
Authorities identified Darrisha Danforth as the driver of the getaway car. During questioning, Danforth initially provided a false alibi, claiming she and Jones were inside an apartment at the time of the shooting. However, investigators found evidence that contradicted her statement. The investigation continued to progress, and on June 18, 2024, a third suspect was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. Subsequently, on June 25, 2024, the first-degree murder charges against two men accused in the double homicide were bound over to a Hamilton County grand jury, marking a significant step in the legal proceedings.
