On May 9, 2024, Maria Rios and her husband, Jesus Rios, were found deceased in their residence near the 3200 block of Highway 88 between Alamo and Maury City, Tennessee. Responding to a call at approximately 4:45 p.m., deputies from the Crockett County Sheriff's Office discovered Maria unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds, and Jesus also suffering from a gunshot wound; both were pronounced dead at the scene.
