In the summer of 2024, a grim discovery was made on the Alta Lake Greenway in Hermitage, Tennessee. On the morning of July 14th, employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers stumbled upon the unresponsive body of a young woman. The woman, later identified as 20-year-old Jamani Parker, had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
