On a tragic Friday evening in Hermitage, Tennessee, 42-year-old Beverly McPherson’s life was cut short in a violent encounter with her estranged husband. The incident unfolded at her mother's home on Bonnaspring Drive, where McPherson was fatally shot.
The investigation revealed that Antwaund Cartwright, 39, arrived at the residence and engaged in an argument with McPherson. Following the dispute, Cartwright went outside and returned with a shotgun. He then shot McPherson in the living room before turning the weapon on himself, ending his own life in what the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department described as an apparent murder-suicide. Three other individuals were present in the home at the time of the incident but were not physically harmed.
Beverly McPherson was a mother, survived by her children. Her death on June 26, 2020, left her family and friends to mourn a life lost to domestic violence. As the perpetrator died at the scene, there were no arrests or subsequent criminal proceedings in this case.
