In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Nashville, Tennessee, a gathering at Hartman Park turned tragic, ending the life of 26-year-old Jamontez Laron Johnson on August 25, 2024. The male victim was one of two individuals who fatally succumbed to gunshot wounds during the incident, which unfolded around 1 a.m. at the park located at 2801 Tucker Road.
When police responded to the scene, they discovered another victim, 21-year-old Dominique Miller, in the parking lot with multiple
gunshot wounds. Miller was transported to Skyline Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Shortly after, authorities were notified that Johnson had been taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by a private vehicle. He too was pronounced deceased from his injuries.
The violence of that morning also left a third person, a 21-year-old male, with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. He came forward later to report his injuries to the police. The motive for the shooting has not been publicly released by investigators.
In the aftermath of the double homicide, the Metro Nashville Police Department’s homicide unit began pursuing leads to identify those responsible for the deaths of Johnson and Miller. Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact Crime Stoppers, offering a cash reward for tips that lead to an arrest. To date, there have been no public announcements regarding any arrests made or suspects identified in the case. The investigation remains ongoing.
