On January 7, 2023, 17-year-old Gavin David "Pookie" Beighley of Sharon, Pennsylvania, was fatally shot while riding his bicycle with friends on West Budd Street. Responding to reports of a shooting around 9:15 p.m., Sharon police found Gavin with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. He was transported to Sharon Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
