On March 1, 2023, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Pittsburgh Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating multiple rounds fired in the 3100 block of Cordell Place, located in the Arlington Heights neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 35-year-old Tamont Terale Williams-Brown lying in a courtyard with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed Williams-Brown's identity.
Investigators recovered a firearm near the scene and initiated a comprehensive investigation to identify the perpetrator.
On March 22, 2023, authorities arrested 31-year-old Leroy Grace in connection with the homicide. He was apprehended in the 1600 block of Arlington Avenue. Grace faces charges including criminal homicide, robbery, and possession of a firearm by a person not permitted to do so.
