On August 14, 2023, in Reading, Pennsylvania, 14-year-old Tomas E. Medina Jr. fatally shot his father, 44-year-old Tomas Medina Sr., near their home. The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. in the 1100 block of Locust Street.
