On August 15, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., 37-year-old Andre "Sabir" Lyles was fatally shot inside a Family Dollar store near 58th Street and Baltimore Avenue in West Philadelphia. Responding officers found him with a gunshot wound and transported him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The following day, August 16, 2023, Philadelphia Police arrested a suspect in connection with Lyles' death. The individual was charged with murder and related offense
