On March 8, 2024, at approximately 8 p.m., Coatesville police responded to reports of gunfire on the 700 block of East Diamond Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 28-year-old Amere Naylor with multiple gunshot wounds to the face; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
