On the evening of September 4, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Reading Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Oley and Mulberry Streets in Reading, Pennsylvania. Upon arrival, they discovered 21-year-old Ismael Ortiz-Rodriguez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical attention, Ortiz-Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.
