On the evening of September 14, 2024, William Hopkins, a 34-year-old resident of Castle Shannon, Pennsylvania, was fatally shot in McKees Rocks. At approximately 10:38 p.m., first responders arrived at the 300 block of Ella Street, where they found Hopkins suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
