On February 26, 2023, 28-year-old Sabrina Ann Black and 32-year-old David Jerome Owen were found deceased in their apartment at Maple Crest Apartments in Asheville, North Carolina. Both had suffered apparent gunshot wounds. The Asheville Police Department responded to a call at approximately 4:13 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered the two individuals already deceased.
