On the night of July 2, 2023, at approximately 11:18 p.m., Greensboro Police responded to a shooting incident in the 2100 block of Randall Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 40-year-old Darrin Lamont Dennis suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services transported him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day, July 3, 2023.
In the immediate aftermath of the incident, authorities closed Willow Road between Barksdale Drive and Rosetta Road to facilitate the investigation. Despite thorough efforts, detectives reported no available suspect information at that time. The case was classified as a homicide, and the Greensboro Police Department urged anyone with information to contact Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
