Upon arrival, they discovered 19-year-old Terrance Tyquawn Grant of Maysville, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The following day, May 13, 2024, authorities arrested 19-year-old Jonathan Lee Mills Jr.
in connection with the shooting. Mills was charged with an open count of murder and taken into custody. Despite the arrest, investigators continued to seek additional information to fully understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Lieutenant Ashley Potter of the Jacksonville Police Department emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation, stating, "Even though a suspect has been arrested, we are still asking anyone with any information to contact the Jacksonville Police Department."
