On September 24, 2023, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2500 block of Eddington Street, located in west Charlotte. Upon arrival, they discovered 18-year-old Caleb Thompson suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
