On September 26, 2023, 14-year-old Channing Taylur O'Neal was found with a gunshot wound at a friend's residence on Drivers Lane in Boonville, North Carolina. His mother, Kacie Gillespie, discovered him lying on the floor, bleeding from a head wound. Emergency services were called, and Channing was transported to a medical facility. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on September 28, 2023.
