On the evening of October 18, 2023, at approximately 9 p.m., Durham police responded to a reported shooting in the 900 block of East Main Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 33-year-old Jerry Miles Jr., a resident of Durham, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Tragically, Mr. Miles was pronounced dead at the scene.
