In the early hours of March 28, 2024, Durham police responded to a report of a gunshot wound at a residence in the 3400 block of Old Chapel Hill Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 43-year-old Samuel Carr, who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
