On October 21, 2023, Gregory "Chase" Colas, a 34-year-old resident of Fayetteville, North Carolina, tragically lost his life in a hunting accident near Seaboard in Northampton County. The incident occurred around 3:54 p.m. in the vicinity of Mt. Zion Church Road in Margarettsville, approximately six miles northeast of Seaboard along N.C. 186. Upon arrival, authorities discovered that Colas had been fatally shot by a fellow hunter.
