On October 21, 2023, at approximately 12:35 a.m., officers from the Goldsboro Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 900 block of South Best Street in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 34-year-old Ahmad Rashad Hooker suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical attention, Hooker was pronounced dead at the scene.
