On October 28, 2023, at approximately 12:42 a.m., deputies from the Hoke County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting near the 3000 block of South Old Wire Road in Red Springs, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 24-year-old Monica Lisettaé Maynor, who had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
