On April 9, 2002, the body of Gabriel William Chaney was found in Ala Moana Park, Honolulu, under disturbing circumstances. Maintenance workers discovered him severely beaten, and while little is known about his activities leading up to his death, witnesses noted that Chaney had recently been staying in the park and was seen with other park residents the night before his death.
