On January 8, 2024, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to reports of a shooting near the 2400 Arcade Room on North Tryon Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Daniel Clement Thomas lying in the roadway, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services transported Thomas to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
