On January 14, 2024, in Pink Hill, North Carolina, 3-year-old Clarence Roland Byrd IV tragically lost his life due to an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. at a residence in the 5500 block of Murphy Road. Clarence was immediately transported to UNC Lenoir Health Care in Kinston, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 11:00 a.m.
