On the night of January 25, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a shooting occurred in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Lake Mist Drive in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident resulted in three individuals being shot: 21-year-old Yara Velasquez-Escobar, a 19-year-old man, and a 15-year-old girl. All three victims were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
