On March 2, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Rocky Mount Police Department officers responded to reports of a traffic accident in the 600 block of North Wesleyan Boulevard in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 19-year-old Dcorius Kenaz Omari Wilkins suffering from a gunshot wound sustained during the crash. Wilkins was immediately transported to ECU Medical Center for treatment; however, he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
