On the night of March 7, 2024, Christopher Chapman, a 46-year-old resident of Oxford, North Carolina, was found deceased at his home on Tar River Road. Deputies from the Granville County Sheriff's Office responded to a call around 10:54 p.m. reporting a medical emergency. Upon arrival, they discovered Chapman had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
