In the late winter of 1992, the community of Paintsville, Kentucky, was struck by a tragedy that would claim the life of its dedicated Sheriff. Cecil E. Cyrus, a 56-year-old Caucasian male, had served the Johnson County Sheriff's Office for twelve years, a tenure that came to a violent and abrupt end on March 28, 1992.
