On March 17, 2024, at approximately 5:00 a.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 300 block of Bradford Drive, located in northwest Charlotte. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Darien Lamont Morrison suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Following a five-month investigation, CMPD homicide detectives identified 37-year-old Terrance Gerod McBride as a suspect in Morrison's murder. On August 17, 2024, McBride was apprehended in New York City. He faces charges including murder and possession of a firearm by a felon and is currently awaiting extradition to Charlotte.
