On June 2, 2024, at approximately 3:00 a.m., 18-year-old Belian Garcia Mejia was found fatally shot at a residence on Echo Glen Road in Charlotte's Hidden Valley neighborhood. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Earlier that night, around 1:45 a.m., another shooting occurred approximately 1.5 miles away on Tom Hunter Road, resulting in the death of 39-year-old Pierre McClain. Authorities have not confirmed any connection between the two incidents.
