On June 10, 2024, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Winston-Salem police responded to reports of a shooting on the 5000 block of Eltha Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered 37-year-old Rashad Akeem Sims suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services provided immediate aid and transported Sims to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
