Upon arrival, officers discovered 37-year-old Rashad Akeem Sims suffering from gunshot wounds. On June 21, 2024, law enforcement officials arrested 31-year-old Jake Tywone Gainey IV in connection with Sims' death. He was charged with general murder and booked into the Forsyth County Detention Center without bond. Gainey's initial court appearance was scheduled for the following Monday.
